Chinese Tikki Chaat

A wonder example of Fusion cooking! Chinese Tikki Chaat recipe put together both the elements and ingredients of Indian as well as Chinese culinary world. A lip-smacking delicacy, you have best of both the worlds.
Chinese Tikki Chaat
Category- Vegetarian
Ingredients
Potatoes ½ kg, boiled, peeled and mashed
Bengal gram flour (besan) or corn flour 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Tomato sauce 2 tbsp
Any Green chutney (mint or dhania) 2 tbsp
Tamarind Sweet chutney 2 tbsp
Cabbage 3 tbsp, shredded
Spring onions for garnishing
Oil for frying
For Filling
Carrot ½ cup, cut lengthwise
Beans ½ cup, cut lengthwise
Cabbage ½ cup, shredded
Chow ½ cup, boiled
Soya sauce 2 tbsp
Vinegar 2 tbsp
Ajinomoto ½ tbsp
Salt to taste
Chaat masala ½ tsp
Method
Filling Preparation
Heat oil in a pan add all the vegetables, salt, ajinomoto and cook over high flame. Add chow, vinegar, soya sauce, chaat masala and mix well. Let this mixture cool.
Mix bengal gram flour (besan) or corn flour, potatoes and salt, to make dough like mixture. Take small portion of this dough press it in between the palms, place generous portion of filling in the dough and fold it up to make tikkis or patties.
Heat oil in a pan, fry tikkis, until they become crisp, and remove excess oil in absorbent paper. Serve it on plate, garnish with cabbage, spring onions and serve with the chutneys.
