Cabbage Dhokla

Gujarat is synonymous for its food and vibrant culture. Dhokla is one of the popular gujarati farsans. In the given recipe below, the regular dhokla is given twist with use of cabbage, easy to make and equally delicious.
Cabbage Dhokla
Category- Vegetarian
Ingredients
Cabbage 250 gms, finely chopped
Onion 1, finely chopped
Green chilles 2-3, finely chopped
Coriander leaves (dhania leaves) 1 small bunch, finely chopped
Ginger 1” piece, finely chopped
Asafetida (heeng) 2 pinches
Gram flour (besan) 4 tbsp
Soda bi carb 2 pinches
Red chilli powder (lal mirch powder) ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbsp
Fresh coriander leaves (dhania leaves) for garnishing
For Tempering
Oil 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds (rai) 1 tsp
Method
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl along with little quantity of water. Beat till the air bubbles are released and the batter becomes light and fluffy. Grease a dish pour out the batter in it and steam it for 20 minutes in cooker / idli maker or dhokla maker. Once done remove and cut them into cubes. Prepare the tempering and pour over the cubes. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves (dhania leaves) and serve hot with chutneys.
