Kodi Curry
This non-vegetarian cuisine is from the Andhra platter. A dish to die for, goes well with rice, pulav and even nan. Kodi Curry is definitely a curry for spicy fare.
Kodi Curry
Category- Non-Vegetarian
Ingredients
Chicken ½ kg diced (boiled with salt, oil and turmeric)
Tomatoes 3, chopped
Onion 1, chopped
Green chillies 3, chopped
Ginger 2” long, finely chopped
Garlic 5-6 cloves, finely chopped
Cinnamon (dalchini) 1” piece, broken
Coconut grated ½ cup
Coriander leaves (dhania leaves) 1 small bunch, finely chopped
Coriander powder (dhania powder) ½ tsp
Cumin powder (jeera powder) ½ tsp
Red chilli powder (lal mirch powder) 1 tsp
Turmeric powder (haldi) ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Method
Grind coconut, ginger and garlic together to a smooth paste and keep it aside. Coarsely grind the tomatoes and keep it aside. Coarsely grind half of the onions too and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions, green chillies, cinnamon (dalchini), coconut paste, tomato paste and cook till the oil leaves the sides. Now add turmeric powder (haldi), red chilli powder (lal mirch powder), cumin powder (jeera powder), coriander powder (dhania powder), salt to taste and chicken and sauté for few more minutes. Add water and cook till the chicken gets tender, stir occasionally. Finally before serving garnish with onions, fresh chopped coriander leaves (dhania leaves) and serve hot.
