Kara Masala Mutton

Ingredients
Mutton ½ kg, cleaned and cut into pieces
Curd (dahi) ½ kg
Red chillies 4 no, deseeded and cut into pieces
Garlic flakes, 4-5 chopped
Ginger 2 “long, chopped
Cinnamon powder (dalchini powder) ½ tsp
Onion 1 large, sliced finely
Green chillies 4-5, slit
Fresh coriander 1 bunch
Oil for cooking
Salt to taste
One cup of water
Method
Mix curd (dahi), red chillies, garlic, ginger, cinnamon powder and salt. Marinate the mutton with this mix for 30-40 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan, add sliced onions, fry till they turn golden brown, add the marinated mutton and add one cup of water. Cook till the mutton goes tender and all the water gets evaporated. Lower the flame and cook till the oil starts leaving the sides. Remove to a serving dish and garnish with slit green chillies and coriander leaves (dhania leaves). Kara masala mutton could be served with biryani or roti.
