Dosa

Ingredients

Rice 3 cups
Black gram (urad dal) 1 cup
Salt to taste
oil for cooking

Method

Wash and soak rice and black gram (urad dal) in water for 7-8 hours. Grind it together finely with salt and desired quantity of water to make smooth batter. The consistency is thin compared to idli batter. The batter should be left overnight to ferment.

Take flat tawa heat it and apply some oil. Take small quantity of batter; spread it in circular motion. Put one tsp of oil along the edges. Once the side is cooked flip it to the other side. Dosa could be served with coconut chutneys, sambars and podi’s.
